Through some pretty miraculous circumstances, God opened the door for us to meet with Phil Stacey, top-five finalist on American Idol, but more importantly, passionate evangelist and servant of Jesus Christ. Phil was deeply moved by the lyrics of the song, and offered his voice talent as a gift to the ministry.

He also opened the door for collaboration with Dove Award winner, Chris August who composed, arranged and produced Reach Beyond.

Following his service in the Navy, Phil dedicated himself to using his musical talents to glorify God by recording his self-titled album, Phil Stacey, followed by Into the Light, produced by Brown Bannister (Mercy Me, Steven Curtis Chapman). To date, Phil’s recording career has earned three top-40 Christian and country hits.

Today the song serves as an anthem for all believers who recognize the price Jesus paid for us, and the responsibility we have to reach others with His message of forgiveness, grace and redemption. The song calls all believers to model the actions of Jesus and “reach beyond” to others.
Listen to Phil Stacey talk about his heart for the lost and his passion to "reach beyond."

Listen to the Single "Reach Beyond"

To some “reach beyond” is a challenge. To others, it’s a lifestyle. Ty and Paula are missionaries who have dedicated their lives to reaching people who have never heard the name of Jesus in the Asia Pacific Region.

Moved by the sacrificial love of Jesus, Ty penned the lyrics of the song, Reach Beyond.

This single is available on itunes, Google Play, Spotify, and for Radio Stations on MPE.

Reach Beyond

Lyrics – Ty, Composition and Arrangement – Chris August, Vocals – Phil Stacey

I’ve run in circles, I’ve been afraid,
But I’ve been awed by the sunrise and the wonders You have made.
I’ve judged my brother, I’ve been unkind,
But You showed mercy in my sorrow, and Your truth has changed my mind.

And I’ve wondered, why You would reach out to me?
Am I not beyond your help, am I not beyond reach?”

(Chorus)
You reach beyond every limit, crossing time and space.
You reach beyond majestic beauty to this broken place.
You reach beyond heaven’s glory to hang upon a cross.
You reach beyond every border, counting all as loss.
You reach, You reach beyond, You reach beyond to us.
You reach, You reach beyond, You reach beyond to us.

No turning back now, I offer my life.
Help me follow Your example and be a living sacrifice.
Use my voice, Lord, oh, use my hands, speak the truth,
Touch the hurting, let the broken understand...
That because of Your love, You would reach out to me.
No one You’ve created is beyond Your reach!

(Chorus)

I’m afraid to cross the boundary of all I know and all I see.
Help me reach beyond my fears to live what I believe!

(Chorus)

Why Reach Beyond?

Reach Beyond is a sending organization that wants unreached people everywhere to hear about Jesus, see Him in action and learn how to follow Him.

We define unreached as cultures and locations where Jesus Christ is largely unknown, and the church is insufficient to make Him known in its broader population without outside help.

The Great Commission to “go and make disciples of all nations,” (Matt 28:19a ESV) is as true for us today as it was for Jesus’ disciples. However, nearly 2,000 years later, 42% of all people groups are still unreached. Until all have heard, and every nation has been reached, the task remains unfinished.

Yet, very few resources are currently directed toward reaching the unreached. More than 90% of all missionaries work among already reached people, and less than one percent of donations go to reaching the unreached. We want to shift this paradigm and help fill the gap.

“But how can they call on Him to save them unless they believe in Him? And how can they believe in Him if they have never heard about Him? And how can they hear about Him unless someone tells them?” – Romans 10:14 NLT

Will you join us and help reach the unreached?
